A Very Happy Bastille Day, From Us to You...

In honor of French Independence Day (and one of our favorite holidays), Juillet Quatorze, we TIDers would like to wish you a day chock full of liberté, egalité and fraternité...

And though we gals surely do celebrate July 4th with unchecked jingoism and delectable gusto (our hearts are very patriotic hearts), it never hurts to remember that our great revolution - the shot heard 'round the world - will forever be intertwined with La Révolution. Without their ships, we might have had a harder time winning the war. You know the story. You were paying attention in 4th grade American History. Right? Right?!

Don't say anything about Freedom Fries, the ignoble defeat of Les Bleus at the 2010 World Cup or WWII "surrender" or else we will break this bottle of Veuve Cliquot over your heads.

If you even harbored any of those thoughts for a millisecond, head over to YouTube and watch this scene from Casablanca (they won't let us embed): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oROASA1v92U&feature=related

Gets us every time.

Vive La France, bitches!
